What follows is in response to the 100 Word Challenge, authored by the enduring Velvet Verbosity. The word this week is "Invincible".
The young couple sat in the stark and antiseptic waiting room, the fear they felt, obvious on their faces. This place, this clinic, though meant to give them hope for their child, hadn't had that impact, yet. The diagnosis was too fresh, too new. They didn't have enough information, yet.
She felt so bad for her little girl. Her sweet little girl. At first the child had been afraid, but then she had changed. She could see it in her eyes. She looked so grown up. It made her sad to know her daughter now knew that she wasn't invincible."

A scary place for any parent.
