100 Word Challenge - Within

What follows is in response to the 100 Word Challenge, authored by the uncontainable Velvet Verbosity. The word this week is "Within".

100 Word Challenge

The Lesson

It was hot in the sun. Corwin had been on the practice tee for almost an hour with only short breaks for water. He was getting anxious to get to the last club of the day - the Driver
"Okay, Corwin. That's enough with Irons. Grab the Monster", said his coach.

Corwin picked up his Driver and took several hard swings at the ball. The shots went everywhere but straight. He threw the club to the ground.

"I don't UNDERSTAND!!!!"

"It's easy, Corwin. Your Irons are rhythmic and controlled. You over swing with your Driver. You have to stay within yourself."

You know the same can be said for words. I'm taking away a lesson from this today, 'Stay within yourself'.

When we stretch or try too hard, we lack the control and focus found readily from within. (Hugs)Indigo

Life... golf... there are a lot of lessons that overlap.

I know next to nothing about golf, but you did a great job capturing his frustration. Excellent 100 words. :)

I took lessons last year with friends. A lady's clinic. I'm pretty athletic - can still hit a softball better than some of my high school kids - but golf humbled me. It takes such inner focus. Wish I had more time to practice more.

Very tight and clean. Your writing has grown tremendously over the years. :)
