"Jones! What's the wait time for signals to return from Mars?"
"About 6 minutes, General. 3 out. 3 back. That doesn't take into account the time necessary to formulate a response. Sir."
"How soon are they due back from their EVA?"
"12 minutes, Sir. We can see them approaching the Dome now. They're about 5 minutes out. They'll spend the rest of the time in the decontamination port."
"I don't know why. Damn planet's dead."
"Captain Sterming, report!!"
"The bugs reanimated, Sir. We added water, yesterday, and today they're alive. Abundant and alive. We are not alone ...."
Grannie is much happier now that she has been returned to the unit of the Nursing Center she was in when she first came out of the hospital. She says "Thank you" to all her well wishers and I'm sure she'll email all or most of you when she gets done with all of this.
