Monday Meanders 5-23

Okay. We didn't exactly Meander last Monday - after all, #3 Son and I had spent the weekend at ACEN and my mind was all full of it ... uh, wait ... that didn't sound quite right ... my mind was full of the weekend spent taking pictures of characters, costumes, poses and scantily clad females. Yeah. My mind was full.

Anyway.

Places I visit. This week I'd like to introduce you to Loraine from Art Of Seeking. She is a wife, mother, student and photographer living in Utah County, Utah. Her husband makes and sells turned wood products (as in, on a lathe), and she sells her photographs. She is a free spirit, living in and among free spirits. In Utah.

Somewhere I went. I had never seen a Dermatologist before. The only reason I went was because I have a spot on my temple I'd never noticed before and I wanted to know what it is. So I went to see the Dermy. Nice guy. He told me the spot on my temple was normal - nothing at all to worry about. He WAS concerned, however, about a spot on my back that looked different than the other spots on my body. He shaved it off and then sent the tissue off to the Lab. I got a call a week later which said - "It's not cancer, but we didn't get it all and it should be removed." Dysplastic Nevus is not dangerous. But it can turn into melanoma - which IS dangerous. Last Wednesday, he took the rest of it. Stitches come out in a week, I'm healing fine, and it's no longer uncomfortable.

Something I did. Over the weekend, we published the responses to the "Portrait of a Writer" challenge on The Inferno, as well as responses to the "Portrait of an Artist" challenge on Vikki North's The Artist Challenge. Check 'em out. Not that I had anything to do with publishing the Artist's stuff - just the Writers.

Something I'm going to do. Tonight, I'm going to publish the next challenge word for Velvet Verbosity's 100 Word Challenge. Jump in. It's fun. Just leave a comment on the post that announces the Word with a link back to your 100 word post. Next Sunday we'll publish all the links and next Monday, we'll do it again.

Ndinombethe.

Dude, good for you to stay on those spots. As a once avid golfer I have that worry too.

We fair skinned folks have to remain vigilant and protect ourselves with sunscreen. I use lots of it in Italy!

I second Jientje remarks. Hope you can get back in the swing of things soon. That's in GOLF swing of things.

Glad that the spots aren't something more serious... may have to take up a challenge in the future if not sooner.

I will peek in on the folks in Utah... and take care of yourself!

I am so glad you went to the dermatologist and he could remove the worrisome skin area! : ( Phew!

Isn't that funny--Kyle, too, went to a dermatologist recently and had the exact same experience. (Thank God for health insurance.) Kyle got NINE stitches! Did you get that many? Seemed like a lot to me...
