Friday Haiku - Wet and Cool

Allow me, please, to again point out the new applet, upper left on this page. Angie, from A Whole Lot of Nothing, a truly awesome mother, wife, blogger and person, has a small business that, due to the economy, is struggling. She has asked for help. Not handouts. Just help. She needs to address a larger audience - so as to garner more business. So, I am trying to help. Look at her site. If there are things there you've been thinking about buying, or if you know of someone who may need things she has to offer, consider making those purchases through Angie's site. Help a woman owned, small business stay in business. And help a family through difficult times.

Haiku Friday

It's wet and it's cool
The damn stuff grows anyway.
Crap. I hate yardwork.

Yeah, I know. I've made this complaint before. But the thing is, when I do have time and inclination sorted, the weather is uncooperative and the damn grass grows longer and longer and I just know it's gonna be ugly when it finally does get mowed. And there's this area at the back of the lot that needs a little special attention and I can't get to that for the very same reasons and I have a garage full of rug remnants I need to lay out back there in order to kill all that crap that grows back there and it's only going to get more difficult to get it done the longer it takes to get back there and do it.

Will somebody PLEASE put in an order for several days of drying sun?

Ndinombethe.

I'm in Phoenix at my parents' home hanging in the drying sun. I am going to close my eyes and wish some your way. Be prepared for an AWESOME weekend of sun!! :-)

Awww, I wish I could send you some of this gorgeous spring we're having. There is a greenish mist happening around the trees, except where there's a pink and white explosion... good smells are everywhere, and daffodils are dilling away like mad. I'm loving it! Soon, it will come to you too... but if you can't wait, we just got our very comfy pull-out sofa for treasured guests!

Sending you some from Belgium as well!

Consider it done. Although, I hope I have more success with my wishes for YOUR good weather than mine. So far this week, we have had 27C and scorching sun (what was THAT about?), -3 and snow, torrential rain and thunderstorms..... I hardly dare look out the window for fear I will see a plague of locusts approaching.

But we don't have any leaves on trees or blades of grass yet, so I am spared yardwork - for now!

I can send you some of this Florida Sunshine... it's been lovely the last few days, but I can't cut my lawn until the hubs services the mower.

I would send you sun, but its raining here this morning. This weekend though, we'll have an abundance so I'll send some then while I'm doing my own yardwork. Meh.

Thanks again for the shout to Angie's store. It is much appreciated.

And I'm adding some more to the Florida sun Tara sent.

Some Italian spring sun to you since we have aplenty! As for the yard work- we bought an apartment and now just manage plants and herbs on our balcony- very nice, I recommend it.

Heh! Yardwork. It's year-round here, as you probably guessed. Always something.

Yesterday it rained all day, after days of sunshine.. It was torture.

Praying for rays, my friend!

I'd like some sunshine too, but not the yardwork.

Well, we actually had snow flurries this morning & wind chills in the 20's. So, when I get some warm weather & sun, I will share!

Lou,

I abhor yard work that includes grass repair. The damn stuff never grows neatly, no matter what we do or pay someone else to do! I'd rather let it go to weeds, I mean wildflowers.

Hope you enjoy your painting weekend. Will we get to see your artwork?
