The Day After The Weekend Before

I was exhausted. When I got back to the hotel last night I was drained. Watercolor work is intense and requires (at least, when you're learning) every bit of your concentration. I imagine that once the techniques are more ingrained - once one is more able to work freely with a firm grounding in how to reproduce on paper what is in the mind - it will be easier and less tiring to work. Relaxing, even.

I am exhilarated. I love what we did in the workshop over the weekend. I feel a renewed passion for painting - I haven't done much panting in the last year and a half and now I know I will get back to work. It's all a matter of priorities. They need to be properly set.

I have a new friend. Several, in fact. But in this instance, I am referring specifically to Rusty Harden, a wonderful artist, patient teacher and all around remarkable woman.

I have a lot of pictures. Especially of Tipp City, which, until 1938, was known as Tippecanoe City. Tipp City sits along the path of the Ohio and Erie canal, which connected the Ohio River, at Cincinnati, with Lake Erie, at Toledo. In the early part of the 19th century this canal was an important economic artery for the region, but it wasn't long before it was supplanted by road and railroad transport. What is left, now, is picturesque, if nothing else.

Pictures tomorrow.

Well, you had a beautiful weekend to visit Ohio, and as the others have already said, I am happy to hear you enjoyed the watercolor workshop. And, yes, I would like to see some of your photos of Tipp City.

Lou,

Thank you for your confidence and coming to the workshop. It was a pleasure and an honor to have you there.

Like everyone else, I look forward to seeing your new work as you apply some of the information in whatever medium you choose to express it in.

We enjoyed your view and photography of Tipp City, can't wait to see the photos posted.

You brought as much to it as you took away. Your generousity of sharing your knowledge and experience with the photography aspect of your talent was a mini workshop in itself.

Isn't it exhilarating to develop or rediscover dormant parts of ourselves? At any age!
