Sherman - the Way Back machine, Please!!

I thought it might be fun to look back to see what my post was two years ago. Just for grins. Besides, I'm dry at the moment, so this is the equivalent of vamping. Which I learned how to do when I was a young man in the theater. Because not everybody would remember lines and/or cues, and you had to vamp until the cast got the performance back on script. Anyway ....

Below is the post from March 10, 2008. It's called "Work, Work, Work". Before we look into "Work, work, Work", I need to explain why I didn't use the post from the 11th of March, which you would think I would have done, given that today IS the 11th, not the 10th. The post from the 11th was called "The Great Breast Feeding Thing". And I thought, "....Nah."

And now ...

It's Monday and our trip to England is less than 2 weeks away. I have so much to do to get ready - not the least of which is training staff to do some of the troubleshooting stuff I do on a regular basis to keep our database environment well and happy. Oh well. If this job were easy then I guess anyone could do it and then they wouldn't pay me so much. Hmmmm. I think I'll take a cell phone to England.

(Two years ago, I was anticipating a trip to England. Today, I am anticipating a trip to Tipp City, Ohio.)

On another note, April 2nd is the start of the new art class with Marilyn Dale. I am looking forward to the new class. I have no idea what I'm going to want to paint for the class. I am open to suggestion. Anyone?

(Two years ago, I was anticipating an upcoming Art Class. Today, I am anticipating an upcoming Art Workshop. In Tipp City. Which is why I'm going there.)

Funny - how much things change, and yet they're the same.

It looks a little bit like the Monday Meanderings you're doing now!

that's one of the pleasures of blogging... going back in time.

Tipp City is a very small place, so you will be able to concentrate on your painting. I think I went to a wedding in Tipp City about 15 years ago when I worked at a bank in Dayton, Ohio. They might have one traffic light. : )

Thanks for the revisit! I love looking back at my blog posts. Sometimes I laugh and sometimes I scrunch up my face and wonder what the heck I was thinking!

Now, off to find "The Great Breast Feeding Thing." ;)

Tipp city!! That's where my B/SIL live! MIL & FIL Live just a little bit north of there on Troy, OH.

If you can/have time, go visit the Air force museum. I haven't been there, yet, but the kids have and they've loved it.

I think it's cool how you found similiarities in the two timeframes.

I took a cell phone to England, and carried it in my pocket "just in case." It rang just once, as I stood on a cliff over looking the ocean at Land's End. When my pocket suddenly shouted at me (in a British accent, I might add), "HELLO, MOTO!" I almost jumped off the cliff, it startled me so much.
