Monday Meanders 2-1

Saturday evening, at about 5PM, I met up with Mags, from Ms Maggie Moo talks 2 U and Melisa with One S, from The Suburban Scrawl and here I am with those lovely young women:
I'm the one with no hair ... Melisa is in the top picture ... Mags is in the second picture.

We had a light supper and we chatted and had a great time getting to know one another. Not that we didn't 'know' each other from blogging, but still, there is a certain reality to assumptions made through blogging after one actually meets another blogger IRL. And you get to see that the person you met online is just the same 'live and in color'.

I had my laptop with me - I had thought I might live twitter while we were together - but it was too much fun talking and listening and there just wasn't time.

Mags got her "Chicago Style Hot Dog" - two of them, in fact. Man, ya gotta love a girl who loves her hot dogs.

And during the day, she actually went to Wrigley Field - just because she loves baseball.

Grannie made hats for them, as well. Mags had had a bad Etsy experience - what she got, as a hat for her Chicago trip, was not as pictured - so Grannie volunteered to make her a hat. And one for Melisa, as well. The only problem here is that for some reason, I don't seem to be able to upload any more pictures right now - so I guess visual proof is going to have to wait for the girls to publish their photos.

And, of course, Saturday was the publication date for 'The Inferno' Challenge, "The Butterfly Circus". The link to the results is here.

It was a nice weekend.

What fun! I'd love to meet a few more of my bloggy friends. It was so good to meet you! I'd love to go to one of those big conferences... BlogHer or something... scary thought! Some of my bloggy friends, I MUST meet someday soon, I absolutely love them. If they're as real and lovely as you, then I'm lucky.

I had the chance to meet Melisa last July in Chicago. She's great! I need to visit at Ms. Maggie's, I'm always looking for new writers to read. (new to me that is..)

Glad you all had such a nice afternoon together.

I have never, EVER heard anyone refer to a meal at Portillos as "a light supper". You have a real way with words, my friend! :)

It was so great meeting you and I look forward to getting together again, seeing as though you only live 15 minutes south of me! :)

It was FANTASTIC to meet you! I'm so sorry I had to run out too soon. Next time we'll all have a longer dinner (or something).

Thank you SO SO SO SO much for the hat! I LOVE IT. AND that night I got several compliments from strangers who stopped me and told me how cute it is.

My internet is down at home and I'm hoping to edit pictures on my lunch break. So...pictures to follow-shortly.

Thanks again Lou!!

PS. How could you NOT love hot dogs?!!?

How could they no love you? I'm one of the lucky girls who got to meet you and I still treasure the memory of our get together. I can imagine there was no time to Twitter or do anything else but talk and bond. The hats look cute, Grannie did a great job!

Collette: It was fun. I will have a great week.

Nan: You flatter me to no end. And I absolutely adore you.

Tara R: We had a very nice visit - and both of them were charming.

NicoleB: I'm sorry about the lack of good hot dogs in Egypt. At least when you go home to Germany the sausages will be much, much better.

Melisa with one S: yes! We're like neighbors even.

Joyce-Anne: We did, Joyce-Anne.

Audubon Ron: It was, was, was.

Mags: You are so very, very welcome.

PattiKen: Don't be - somehow I know we'll meet.

Jientje: Yes, Grannie did do a nice job.

You'd think that living within a couple of hours of a quarter of the population of this country that I would be meeting my fellow bloggers all the time. Not so. I should make that happen. Glad you had a good time!

Love the Donald Duck shirt, btw!
