Monday Meanders 1-4

Today is the first work day of the new year. I am going to be one busy puppy. And happy that I am. So many are out of work. I am lucky.

I took #3 Son back to school yesterday. He's on the 4th floor. I wonder who I have to know to arrange 1st floor lodgings in the future. I'm not getting any younger, you know.

My ribs are healing slowly. I was making good progress until Saturday morning when I felt something kind of 'pop' and suddenly I took two steps back in progress. I am just now getting back to where I was on Saturday. Hopefully, there are no more surprises waiting for me.

There is something special about bruised ribs. You never know what move you're going to make that's going to hurt. And I mean HURT. If Tom Brady really has been playing football with three broken ribs, he's a better man than I am. Seriously.

'Sarah' is making great strides. It's kind of funny, really. Having found the focus - the meaning - suddenly she's headed right for it, like she wants to get this over and done with and all I can do is tag along and go where she takes me. I had a lot of ideas - things I wanted to get to and cover - but she wants to take the story right to its core without any stops along the way. There must be more I can't see yet. There must be some surprise she has in store for me. I hope so, anyway.

I am working on a new painting - the first in over a year. It's for the Artist Challenge - see the applet upper right sidebar. The prompt is 'Turbulence'. I will use it to illustrate the story I'm writing for The Inferno - see the second applet upper right sidebar - the writing prompt is, also, 'Turbulence'. Everything will publish January 16th.

Oh, and one more thing. In my New Year's Resolution list, I resolved to finish 'Sarah'. In order to maintain focus, I am going to have to publish her every weekend until it's done. At least one day a weekend until it's done. Promise.

Sorry to read you are still feeling pain from your fall. You must have done a number on yourself. Hope you mend soon.

Yes, we have too many people that want to work and can't find jobs. We have too many banks with cash to lend not willing to lend it. After TARP, I think it is time for the Obama administration to put some pressure on banks to lend to small creditworthy businesses again.

Ouch! Sorry about the set back on your ribs healing.

Good for you getting back to painting, you have such a wonderful talent. I can't wait to see the finished piece.

I was wondering about that. I hope you'll heal quickly. It's nothing for a man to be in pain. ;-)
I enjoyed the two last episodes of Sarah, can't wait to read more. I'm very curious about the painting too. You're going to be one very busy bee Lou!

Glad you're doing better - hope the ribs heal up quickly! Taking #3 son's things up to the fourth floor must have SUCKED! Sadly, I know of no way to influence the powers that be - best of luck with that! And with your resolutions!

You don't think much about the agony some of those football players must be in until you have a similar injury and then it's HOLY COW, HOW DO THEY EVEN GET OUT OF BED LET ALONE WALK OUT ON THE FIELD! I say this from the perspective of a sprained thumb a few years back.

Take it easy and let yourself HEAL!

I can not even wait to see your painting. Can not wait!

LOVE that you are thankful for your job. I think that attitude is refreshing. I love my coworkers to bits but they constantly complain about our job. They say they hate it and they don't make enough money...and it makes me sad. I mean, we really aren't in a money making career, so why can't they just be thankful they have it and genuinely help the people we work with- or move on. Don't stay with an attitude!

So anyway, sorry for that long statement : ) I just think it is great that you are thankful.
