Monday Meanders 12-13

The Bears lost yesterday - and it was a game they could and perhaps should have, won. On the other hand, could haves and should haves are all sour grapes - Jake Cutler came to Chicago and all he did was light up the weaknesses in the rest of the team. And with Lovie Smith.

The giveaway at Mommycosm is today. Not one of my readers made comment on my print at her site - didn't any of you want it? I find myself a little disappointed.

Ndinombethe.

UPDATE: I was wrong. One of my peeps did comment. And SHE WON!! Congratulations PattiKen.

Your print is lovely. I'm just trying not to bring ANYTHING else into this house that we don't absolutely need. (If you saw our garage, office, and kitchen, you'd understand.) Still, I completely get your disappointment. I did a craft fair last year at work. No one bought one of my photographs. I was bummed.

Lou, I liked the photograph, but I did not want it for free. If you are talking about the black & white photo of inside the train car, I would be interested in trading you a signed 14"x11" sunflower print. I would mail it to you in a tube. You could then frame it the way you want or do whatever makes you happy with it. Let me know if you are interested in a trade as I think that photograph has a lot meaning.

This is the price I pay for neglecting my bloggy friends. Gah. So sorry, Lou.

I'm repeating myself, but this is worth repeating. I'm thrilled!

Don't know much about bears except huggy ones but I'm surrounded by even more rabid football fans in Italy! I'm so sorry I didn't say how much I love your photo (It thought I did on your site) but I presumed shipping to Italy was not really an option. It's one of those haunting pieces though that tells a whole story...

Shadow: Ah, yes. But expectations were so high for post season play. No longer.

Rebecca: I'm sorry, Reba. I would have bought one of ours.

Moneythoughts: I think we can work a trade.

Witchypoo: No problem, Witchy. My panties are untwisted.

PattiKen: So am I.

Grandmother: No - you're right. Shipping to Italy would not be financially feasible. But I appreciate your appreciation of my shot.

My wife is a Bears fan. She has a Bears banner she hangs up next to the TV when I watch the Saints. The Bears need a QB-ectomy.

Cutler is a good QB. The trouble was/is that the Bears aren't used to having a good QB, don't know how to receive passes from one, and after years of subpar QBs like Rex Grossman, Kyle Orton, Kordell Stewart, etc. etc. having a QB who can actually pass and pass well is a foreign concept to them.

I also think the injury to Urlacher hurt them more than they realize. They need to draft a hotshot for their defensive line who can learn from Urlacher while he's still good enough to pass along his skills to the next generation.

Too bad about the Bears. Did I ever mention I grew up partially in NW Indiana? Big Bears country.
