An Unhappy Camper?

I mean - what do you think?

I took #3 Son for a haircut yesterday evening. Today, I'm taking him to the Near Southside of Chicago, to the IIT Campus (Illinois Institute of Technology), to get the paperwork started for the Air force ROTC program he's going to be in through college. I thought it appropriate for him to show up there with his hair cut, shoes shined and standing straight and tall.

So ... the young man who looked like this (pay attention to the hair) three months ago ... and hadn't had that thick mop cut since ...

... now looks like this ....

I believe I detect a certain measure of attitude.

The funny thing is that now ... NOW ... he actually looks like all the other guys in the family - his brothers and his male cousins from his Mother's side of the family. EVERYBODY in this family wears their hair short except #3 - until yesterday. His curly locks now gone, it's a TOTAL surprise how much he looks like he belongs in this family now. Now if i can just get past that raised eyebrow ....

Ndinombethe.

*No children were harmed in the production of this post. The 'look' was prompted by the fact that I couldn't stop laughing at him - and the smug little fart hates it when I do.

If he is going to do ROTC, I think Air Force has got to be a good one. I wish him a lot of good luck.

You realize I started college one year short of a half a century ago. 1960 was an interesting time to be on campus.

Wow, what a difference from the way he looked last Saturday! Hair or not, he's still handsome.

I always keep my hair short, got one of those hair shavers you see and its the only way my adopted hairdresser knows how to use it.
I cant stand long hair, too hard to maintain.
had to laugh at the last line of your post, I have been pondering the deep meanings of existence again

He looks great :)

He'll find it a lot easier to manage at that length at least.

He grew up 10 years in that one little step!

Call me quirky, but I like the short short hair. And that bit of sass on his face is just plain awesome.

Nope, he doesn't look convinced.
But I think it's cute :)

It's not everyone can raise an eyebrow like that!

Don't kill me, but he's a cutie!

I actually like the new do. Dadisodes used to wear his hair like that years ago.

Simply for boy to man. Best of luck to him in his chosen career path.

Oh, total attitude. But, here's my question. Did he scream and wail and cry during said haircut? When the hell does that end? Because mine are driving me nuts.
