Who?

For the first time in a long time I watched our PBS station, here in Chicagoland, Channel 11, WTTW. I watched an episode of "Lewis", starring Kevin Whatley, the once and former sidekick of John Thaw, who played "Inspector Morse". Of course, Mr. Thaw died not long after the Morse series ended, and whether or not it was in the plans all along, they decided to spin off another series of Oxford Police stories, this time starring Whatley.

During the run of the episode there was a short intermission during which they ran some adverts for upcoming shows and guess what. No guess, really. Oh, nevermind, you'll never guess anyway. It's "Who". There's a new series of "Dr. Who" running and there was an announcement of the upcoming episode - at 10, last night. W00T!!! Dr. WHO!!! I had seen every episode of every series of Dr. Who - up until a couple of years ago. I kinda ran out of gas and besides, I was spoiled by Tom Baker, who, in my mind, will always be the definitive Dr. Who. The newer players, in recent years, have been but a pale reflection of hte grandeur that was Tom Baker as 'The Doctor'.

But, as it turns out, absence DOES make the heart grow fonder and suddenly, I am ready for the new, upstart playing 'The Doctor'. And I really enjoyed last night's episode and I think I'll be watching, again, every week, at 10pm, on Sunday night. Because, if nothing else, I am now and always have been, a 'Who-ite'.

The Time Lords of Gallifrey RULE!! (Or they did until they all went poof.)

Ndinombethe.

I admit I have never watched Dr Who. I'd say I'd start now, except that's past my bedtime on a work night. I know. I'm so lame.

I watched Dr. Who on PBS as a kid and I'm like you. Tom Baker did it for me and there's been no one else since. Hope you enjoy the new Dr. Who!

MagnetoBoldToo: Show me your boobs and I'll be your friend forever. And you won't have to watch Dr. Who.

Alice: You like that? Every once in a while I translate it, just so new readers get it.

Employee: No, you're not. you're gorgeous.

Hyphen Mama: Him.

Cat: Are't they, though?

Coal Miner's Granddaughter: I'm getting there. Tennant is working out.

Jientje: Unexpected, eh?

Joyce-Anne: Good for him - a man with a fertile mind.
