You can't be so sensitive,
Your skin gets thicker."
The Breakfast Club
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Home Alone
and others
The quote above comes from him,
as did those movies.
p.s. That which is bolded is NOT Haiku - but you knew that, right?

ferris bueller... we got the bean to watch it, and even he loved it 'even though it's old'...
I am not 100% sure I've ever seen "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" all the way through. (I've seen the beginning, and the end, and the middle, but not sure if I've seen every bit of it.) I've seen "Breakfast Club" all the way through. That (and possibly "Ferris Bueller") may be the only Hughes movie I've seen in its entirety. Weird.
Nice tribute Lou. A very talented man, he created movies that people will watch for a long time. And, he got his start in Chicago too.
Um. No. I was counting and wondering why you couldn't count to 7. My bad.
His movies were a part of our history.
i wonder what people will quote from me once i'm dead.
oh i know - fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
totally me.
lovely tribute - to a good film writer and director! His movies almost all of them make me smile and remember parts of my youth.
It's bad that I'm off to Google John Hughes, isn't it?
Back under my rock I go.
As I write this, my kids are playing with friends and I can't help but wonder if they'll ever see any of John Huges' movies. Right now, they are too young, perhaps in a few years. A beautiful tribute to a wonderful writer of screenplays and director.
They don't make movies the way they used to anymore. He will be sadly missed. (Hugs)Indigo
He sure kept us entertained. I'll miss him.
I was so shocked to hear he died. A legend has been lost.
I knew that! And how could anyone not love Ferris Bueller.
Bueller? Bueller?
His movies will live on, indeed.
He was far too young.
Bueller? Bueller?
Shadow: It does wear well with the passage of time.
Rebecca: They're all good. See them if you can.
Moneythoughts: Yea, I knew he was from Chicago.
Tracey: I could have done the last bit as Haiku if I'd used the word 'films' instead of 'movies'.
Warriorwoman: Lovely. Totally you.
Cat: yeah - they bring back fond memories for me, as well.
Huckdoll: Well, you ARE from Canada, eh?
Joyce-Anne: They'll see them - those films will be around for long, long, time.
Indigo: Yes, he will, Indigo.
Loraine: As will I.
HollyATOM: It was sudden, to say the least.
Ree: And thus the world came to know and enjoy Ben Stein.
Momisodes: Younger than me. :(
Hyphen Mama: So droll.
It's funny how someone you have never met, and in fact had heard nothing from or about in years, can feel like such a tragic loss. Yet it does. It really does.
He was such an awesome storyteller for my generation and I hope to goodness no one re-makes his stuff until I'm long gone.
