Friday Haiku - In the deep, dark cave

Haiku Friday

In the deep, dark, cave,
There isn't light that can shine,
But the light of man.

The hidden beauty,
That Nature squirrels away,
Man's light makes splendid.

Praise the spelunker,
Who roots out the passages,
and gives them to us.

The shot you see above was taken by me in the Talking Rocks Cavern, West Branson, Mo. It is a handheld shot, and what you see is the jpeg as it came out of the camera - it has not been modified in any way. There are several shots I took in there that the owner of the cave likes. His wife is the owner of the Butterfly Palace. I have been invited to return to BOTH places and take as many photos as I like - in the hope that some of my work will become billboards advertising the Cave and the Palace.

Price to be determined.

Ndinombethe.

The man knows talent when he sees it, obviously. VERY nice work, and what a great way to be creative and maybe earn an extra dollar or two! You're lucky that you're allowed to take pictures, it is forbidden in many of the caves here in Belgium.

Congratulations! I love it when a vacation pays for itself. Happens to me all the time. Oh, wait. They call that "work". It just doesn't feel like work.

That is awesome! I can certainly see why they would want your photos.

The cavern looks amazing, and paired with such a lovely haiku.

See that is the difference (well one of many) between you and me. I take pictures you, dear friend, take photographs. You captured the beauty of the cavern with lens and word.
