Partially repaired, made new.
The ruin, undone.
Would it could be so,
For a man, ruined by time,
To be remade, new.
This is an excellent example of a 14th or 15th century Irish Fortified Tower House. As such, it also exemplifies what pesky neighbors can drive you to. It lies southeast of Galway, hard by the shore of Galway Bay.

All your pictures are giving me the travel itch. I've always wanted to go to Ireland. I had a chance about 7 years ago when a friend got married there, but I was 9 months pregnant with my daughter and couldn't go.
Someday.
Great haiku, Lou. Happy Friday :)
Delightfully profound Haiku. I would like to think over time I can be made new...(Hugs)Indigo
Yes, great haiku. You could write a book from that one. Nice picture too. Love old stone walls and buildings.
Happy Friday! Hope it's a good lead into a relaxing weekend for you.
What a view, truly an icon of history!
Have a great weekend!
great thoughts--I really enjoyed your ku!
I wouldn't mind living in a place like that right now.
Especially not now that summer starts over here and the noise, grass cutting neighbours, people repairing their houses and tourists come along.
;)
Love the Haiku. Can man restore the ruin --- Wonerful food for thought. I definitely have a thought about it, but this isn't the time nor place. I should gather up all those thoughts and post a blog about them. See -- something else to blog about that will probably go unwritten. :(
Lou the Haiku is perfect - beautifully done - dare I say - more perfect than the photo... although that is as well special to me - I love castles and keeps like that!
Love your haiku. Makes me miss being there. Can't wait to get back this summer!!
Would that you could... be renewed that it. Gorgeous photos, wonderful haiku. On occasion I have wished I had such a fortification against my neighbors
Profound and lovely ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
Love the poetry, and again, what a lovely place this is.
I hope with all my heart that I will someday find the man that can remake my ruins. I'm sure there will be a steep price but I'm willing to use my kids' college fund.
