Wordless Wednesday (almost)

In March of last year, while on our trip to England, #3 Son was walking along behind me, hands in his pockets, casually ambling along as we circled Stonehenge. I was snapping pictures like crazy. I turned around to espy my son, obviously unaffected by his surroundings. I said, "Zach, what's with you? LOOK where you ARE!!!" To which he replied, "Dad", with all the patronizing attitude he could muster for the word 'Dad', "I've already experienced the WOW factor here". In the above photo, taken on our first trip to England, he is, apparently, enjoying that WOW factor he spoke of.

Next time take me! I love the historical sites of England. Even though I never made it to Stonehenge...traveling there for work didn't leave a lot of fun time, especially in the Northern part of the country where I was.

LOL! That is a great shot of you both.
Stonehenge as the backdrop is gorgeous! I've never been, but would love to one day :)

Love that shot! I've never seen Stonehenge. Well, other than the fake one in Oregon that is pretty cool. Guess that's not the same, though, right? It's on my list.

Hehe, "WoW factor, been there done that" - isn't he cool :D
I think I could go to Stonehenge a thousand times and still would say "WOW".
Must be the age :P

I've never been to Stonehenge. I can almost hear him say the patronizing "Dad!" only a way a teenager can. Love the picture-it's a great shot of the two of you.

Ah, teenagers.

You're a cool dad.

All that greatness is lost on the young, isn't it?

I was 28 when I went to Scotland and could have spent DAYS just sitting in the circles of standing stones... waiting for them to tell me their stories. I can't wait to go back, but I realize it'll be lost on my kids for a while.

OHmommy: Twice!! Been there twice. Unlike my son, I have not accustomed myself to the WoW factor.

Shadow: It was chilly that time. We were there in December.

Hockeyman: Man, if I could I would. I know - when I win hte lottery - you and me, buddy.

Momisodes: It is an amazingly eerie place.

Maggie's Mind: It is a World Heritage Site - it should be on EVERYBODY'S bucket list. Just not in Winter.

Jientje: Yes!! Let's all jump in the bus and go!

Nicole: Me, too. Nicole.

Joyce-Anne: Thank you, Joyce-Anne. Isn't it funny how only a teenager can say it that way?

HollyATOM: Thank you, Holly.

Hyphen Mama: Yes - but travel does work on them - no matter what their age.

Whodathunk twice would have used up the wow of Stonehenge.

They built a Stonehenge here that I still need to visit. I'm sure the 'wow" factor will be a bit more subdued than with the real deal.

*snort*

I totally remember being embarrassed by my parents' tourist sort of reactions to various places in Europe. I should have been grateful they took my sorry arse to such places!

I would of given anything to have that "wow" experience in some of the places you've been. Your kids are so fortunate, on so many levels. (Hugs)Indigo
