slowly I turn, step by step

Lately it seems all I'm doing is whining and complaining about a series of escalating events that began last December. It's not what I really want to do. In a way, this whole series of events seems like a comedy - a 3 Stooges extravaganza, if you will. But then, I LIKE the Stooges, so maybe the comparison disparages them. It IS gradually getting to the point of resolution. I wish I could share all of the issues and their resolutions with you. I wish I could tell you just what I've been dealing with, but it is complicated and in some ways defies description.

When you build and deploy systems that are a combination of hardware and several layers of software, try as you might to assure stability in that system, it is, in the end, a house of cards. Houses of cards collapse. Period.

Rebuilding that house, while providing service in the meantime, is what I like to call "Dancin' with the Bear". When the dance is over, the Bear goes back into hibernation and we wait until he wakes up again, for the next dance. It can be grueling, it can leave scars, but if you're not willing to do the dance, then you shouldn't be doing the job. Like my Gramps used to say, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."

Me? I'm a chef. And I'll dance that Bear right back into hibernation.

How's that for mixed metaphors?

Ndinombethe.

I saw the title and thought "step by step, inch by inch" and I'm transported back to multiple viewings of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Hang in there-the Bear needs to hibernate SOMETIME!

When you're dancing with the bear, who leads? Take it easy chef, and hope the next dance is at least a slow waltz.

Wait. What? said...

At least you know where you stand - now dance, dance , dance - but be sure to rest and take care of yourself in between songs!

Hoping you dance that Bear into some sort of an extended hibernation.

I hope the bear takes a long nap, a good hybernation is what you need.

Wonderful metaphors. That is what I truly like about you -- even when you a whining you are enteraining. And what is the title from? I have said that many times but for the life of me don't know what it is from *Slowly he turned step by step ...* I know something follows hmmm might be time to google.

I hear ya! I'm in over my head so far I can't see straight, but I hate continuing to write about it. SO I've stopped writing and now I'm just living, trying to get to the point that I can see straight again. I might need glasses before it's all over with.

Suzanne: I got another step close this evening.

NicoleB: No - they can leave scars or applications for unemployment.

Shadow: Me and the Bear been dancin' for a long time.

Jientje: I am that. Busy, busy, busy.

Tara R: When you get to the point that you're leading - you win.

Cat: I'm dancing, I'm dancing. I just wish the band would take a break.

Momisodes: Hibernation. I can't WAIT!

Joyce-Anne: HE needs the hibernation. We won't talk about what I need.

Witchypoo: Deer in the headlights.

Patsy: Actually, although it has appeared elsewhere, the Stooges did this routine. It started out with someone saying "Niagra Falls". The the Stooge would say, "Niagra Falls. Slowly I turn. Step by step. Inch by Inch." Etc.
