Questions and Answers

I ran into a meme at Maggie's Mind in this post. She had been to Maria's Immortal Matriarch and fell victim the this post and decided to pass on the affliction meme to others who might volunteer to be interviewed.

1. What items do you still have now from when you were a child?
The only thing I have left from when I was a child is the photograph and the plastic holder for that photograph that was taken in October of 1952 on the occasion of my First Holy Communion. You know, that black & white photo of me standing next to my Grampa's 1952 Dodge. There are some family artifacts that have survived, but that photo and its plastic holder are all I have left of childhood physical possessions.

2. Where is the furthest you've been from Illinois?
The furthest I have been from Illinois is Viet Nam, both physically, in terms of distance (8600 MILES), and environmentally, given the difference between peaceful civilian life and war. Viet Nam is the furthest I have been from anywhere.

3. If from now on you could only have hugs or kisses, but not both, which would you choose?
I think, given that choice, I'd have to choose hugs. There are many people whom, for one reason or another, I may not be able to kiss, but almost anybody can be hugged. And some hugs are really, really fun. And I'm a GREAT hugger.

4. What is your favorite meal?
My favorite meal is my next one. But I think the question is - What's my favorite meal to eat? In that case, It's southern fried chicken, with mashed potatoes, butter on the 'taters and either sweet corn or peas mixed in with the potatoes - on the plate - and biscuits.

5. What do you love most about being a guy?
Aha! Saves the best (and toughest) question for last. 'What do I love most' is just impossible to answer with one succinct reply. Because there are so many, many things. I love being a Husband and a Dad. I love being able to look at and admire women in the frame of mind that I do (although I suppose I could be a Lesbian and get to the same type of physical response - or at least, some thing similar), and as far as those physical aspects are concerned, I love being the lovER and not the lovEE. (although I imagine it does have its attractions - being the lovEE, that is.)

Want to be part of it? Follow these instructions:
1. Leave among the first 5 to leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Oh - and 6. Include links to this post and the post from Maggie's mind - http://maggiesmind.blogspot.com/2009/01/ive-got-answers.html.

And have fun.

Ndinombethe.

I love your answers! I'm not as sure about the peas mixed in with the corn bit, but whatever makes Lou smile. :)

Oh, interview me, please. :)

viet nam... the further you've been anywhere. no that says A LOT. i've heard so much about southern fried chicken, i've gotta try it some day. maybe you can send me a recipe to try out some day????? and about being a guy? i think girls are attracted to guys who think like you. it tends to come across whether a guy really like women or is just pretending so that they can get something from the relationship, or rather non-relationship. love your answers, dear Lceel.

Good answers Lou, except the southern fried chicken, LOL. Just kidding, nice choice.

If I'm #5, please interview me! ;-)

If I'm not, that's okay, too. But, I have to tell you - the HUG question...Love it. And also, mixing corn or peas with mashed potatoes. I'll eat a meal with you anytime!

Mmmm, fried chicken. That's a tough one to beat - but my Mama's homemade mac and cheese would give it a run for the money! :)

I think I'm #5, since Maggie was the one to interview you...

So, please interview me :)

Oh, and I bet you are a GREAT hugger.

I'm not the least bit surprised you are a great hugger. Hmm. I'd have to say I love most Italian food, my homemade lasagna is my absolute favorite.

if you run low on people, although i see you have 12 comments and most of them asking to be interviewed, but IF by some chance you want to do some more, you can interview me. i'd love to hear what questions you would ask. :)

also... i love fried chicken and potatoes with BUTTER and sweet corn and buscuits, but NO peas please... don't like em. lol

AND... I'm sorry for the "girls" comment on my blog... of course I have you, my MANLY MAN!! :)

hahaha! I think if Mr Hyphen were asked what he likes about being a guy, his answer would be one word: boobs. (not man boobs, of course... WOman boobs).

I can't wait to get THAT HUG!

I can't choose between kisses and hugs, They go together, and as much as I love hugs, I'd miss kisses too much.

Suzanne: I'm glad you liked the answers. Expect to see an email from me tomorrow (Tuesday.)

Jientje: Yes, that's why that picture is so important to me. I will email your questions tomorrow.

Julie: You will find out tomorrow.

Maggie's Mind: No,no,no. Not peas mixed in with the corn - peas OR corn in the mashed potatoes.

Rebecca: And so I shall. You'll see the questions tomorrow.

Shadow: I honest to goodness, totally love women.

Eric S: Good answers? Well, honest, at least.

Hotfessional: If you come to blogHer in July, you could well have that chance.

Calicobebop: Yeah, I'm sure your Mom's Mac & Cheese is really great - but the question was what was MY favorite meal. I've never eaten your Mom's Mac & Cheese.

Ashlie: You're actually #6 - but I'll interview you nonetheless. Questions coming tomorrow.

Joyce-Anne: I love good hugs. And if I'm ever out your way, I hope you can save me a taste of the lasagna.

Nicole: Anytime you want a hug (and we're within reasonable distance of each other) you just let me know.

Jennifer: You, too. Questions to you tomorrow.

Kim: Passing on the peas is okay - I know not everyboy likes them. To each their own, you know?

Warriorwitch: KFC will do in a pinch - but Mom's homemade is the best.

Nan: Just as soon as you are with arm's reach.

Hyphen Mama: Boobs are good. (heh, heh REAL good). But a BIG HUG is yours as soon as it's humanly possible.

Loraine: Were it not for the respect I have for Matt, I would suggest we practice choosing.

Patsy: A big hug right back to you, too, Patsy.

ifmomsaysok: Terra, I'll bet you're a good hugger, too.

Myst_72: If there is ANY justice in the world, there will come a day when you and I can hug.

AFF: The question is whether you see that as a good thing, or not.
