Decompression

#1 Son and I are home. After a truly wonderful week in Trinidad, where I got to meet so many warm and generous people, it's hard to know where to begin to recount the details of our trip. The only fly in the ointment, if you will, was the truly abysmal Internet Access at Moniques, which is where we wound up staying while we were there. They have a dialup. They have wireless access throughout the hotel, but it feeds into a dialup and it was just unusable. I did attempt a few posts, but there was just no hope. Which is why yesterday, the 29th of January, there was no post here. This blog actually took a one day vacation. The first non-posting day since January 1st, 2008. I COULD backdate a post - but that would be cheating. Let's just call it a 'vacation day'.

Anyway, today is going to be a day to decompress. I have a WHOLE LOT (thank you, everyone) of email read and some emails I have to write, and some people I need to re-connect with. Unpacking. Picture sorting from two cameras.

I did want to say this, however, while it is still fresh in my mind. I LOVED every minute I was in Trinidad, sucky access not withstanding. And the people I met there were nothing short of amazing.

Tash. Her Family. Stinker. And Paul, the good man who is now in her life. Nan. And her sons, Chaz, Sam and Max. Sean, Nan's husband and world traveling helicopter pilot. "Girlblue".

There are many tales to tell and things to recount. There is photo documentation of most of what we did. All of this will come soon. It's time to decompress.

I'm sure it was a wonderful holiday, but I can imagine you're tired as well! Can't wait to see those pictures! And we forgive you the non-posting day. You can make up for that in your next posts!

Welcome home, Lou. Relax, decompress and let your body get acclimated to the cold weather again. I’m looking forward to all you have to share about your trip.

I'm sorry I wasn't there to be part of the Trini Team to show off our island even more. But I know you were in GREAT hands. I'm so happy you enjoyed your trip!

Cat: I missed posting too, and I was all prepared to be upset and everything - and then I said ... about what?

Shadow: Thank you, V. I am doing just that.

Hyphen Mama: Maybe we'll start showing pics on Monday.

Cathy: Thank you, Cathy. We had a GREAT trip.

Hockeychic: Thank you, ma'am. Should start publishing stuff from the trip on Monday.

Jientje: Strangely, I am not as upset over the missed day as I thought I might be.

Employee: Oh - the cold weather. The COLD, COLD weather. I actually met two men, at our hotel, who are from India, and they have never experienced temperatures below 60 degrees in the LIVES!!

Theresa: The only thing that would have made it nicer is if you had managed to be there.

Eric S: In Trinidad, THE beer is Stag. Good Stuff.

Casdok: Thank you, ma'am. So very nice to hear from you.

Nan: I am so glad I could leave something there to remind y'all of me, from time to time. And tell Max I said 'Hey!'.

Maggie's Mind: They're coming. Soon.

Ree: Thank you, Ree. I'm glad to be home, if only to have really good Internet ACCESS!

Glad you got back safely Lou and I hope you come back down to enjoy another 'paint out' day with us. Next time maybe at Maracas for a good old shark and bake! :-) It was lovely meeting you and Louis and hearing all your stories.
Happy painting!

You're back!!!!! I feel like I should be running over to offer a hug and balloons :)

I'm glad you FINALLY took a day off from blogging. I cannot wait to see pics and hear some stories, but take your time. Take all the time you need to decompress. I'm sure it's shocking to come back to this FREEZING cold weather again, too.
