16 days and counting

Including today, there are 16 blogging days left in this year. No pressure, obviously. It just seems so strange to be nearing the end of this year. There are also, therefore, 16 more days to drive traffic into Zoeyjane's blog - but we cover that in the last paragraph, right?

I have started the paintings for my winners. The first one is turning out much better than I had thought it might - it is a view of a sun speckled sea on a (vitually) cloudless day. Well, the clouds are out near the horizon and relatively faint. As soon as I finish and frame it I'll post the picture here.

We spent a little time wrapping Christmas presents last night. I think that's the part of Christmas I am least friendly with. Invariably, I don't wrap them to suit SWMBO and she gets upset and then I get upset because she's gotten upset and the next thing you know it's makeup sex. Which is fun. It's just that getting to the point that you have to have it, isn't. Fun. TMI?

Saturday, along with all the other things I had scheduled for myself, I spent an hour teaching my next door neighbor the finer points of printing in Windows. Like how to select a printer. Because the printer queue she was using was for something that didn't exist. It was that thing that just naturally shows up in Windows as an available queue - whether or not you actually have hardware that supports that queue. And, of course, she has no clue. Well, she does now. I am afraid I may have opened Pandora's box. I have suddenly become the support system for my neighbor - she even came to me when there was an interruption in their phone service. Oh well.

Click, click, click on the links on the next paragraph and let's drive that traffic into Zoeyjane's site and help her build her revenue - for charity.

Zoeyjane of Mommy is Moody is DOING something. She is donating all the revenue from her advertisements on her site, for this month, to To Write Love On Her Arms. Go to Zoeyjane's site and read This Post. She gets paid by 'Impressions'. Just going there helps. Click on her ads - and help more. Click through to To Write Love On Her Arms and see what they do. Just doing that will help, too. This paragraph is going to appear at the end of each post, each day until the end of the month. As a reminder. Just click through. And help. Save the women and men and boys and girls that don't need to live without love, that don't need to suffer addiction and depression, that don't need to die.

Peace.

I wish you lived next door to me. I would gladly wrap most of your presents while you straightened out my stupid computers. I wouldn't wrap all of your presents, though, because I would hate to deprive you of the chance of make-up sex...

Wrapping presents for an artist should be no big deal. Unless you are talking about something very fancy, I'm sure you can wrap a box with wrapping paper. At least your wife gets started early. When my wife was alive, she would only have me wrap the night of December 24 to early morning of the 25th. I always wanted to do the wrapping, like you guys do, so I could relax in front of the fire and listen to Xmas music on Xmas eve. Well, this make up sex sounds like a family tradition in your house anyway, so why change after all these years.

Getting so close to the end of the 365, huh?

I haven't even done any Christmas shopping with all of the craziness, but I don't mind wrapping. It might be more of a girl thing? Yay for make up sex, though!

My to-do list today is FINALLY GET THE DAMNED GIFTS WRAPPED.

haha haven't wrapped any yet and seein as I wrap alone I suspect there won't be any make up sex involved. Perhaps I should request assistance then pick a fight :)

LOL! That scenario sounds so similar to our house. The wrapping, I mean.

You are such a sweet neighbor. So far no one has come to ask Dadisodes for computer help. Although I wish our neighbor would (he's an electrician). Perhaps we could swap services ;)

Hi Sweet Lou,
I bet you're wife appreciates your help. I'll tell you a secret: It's also tradition for 'us women' to fuss at our husbands while they help us wrap presents. It helps to relieve holiday stress.

Now the big question: Are you going to blog everyday of 2009?

Julie: Thank you, Julie, for making sure I'm not deprived. Depraved, maybe, but not deprived.

Myst_72: Hmmmm. I think you and Aniie must share similar genes or something.

Christy: You and me, kid.

Shadow: Well, that could be one reason ...

Moneythoughts: Gotta love those family traditions, Fred.

Maggie's Mind: Make up. Is it as good as 'catch up'?

Hyphen Mama: Why? Is it Christmas Eve, yet?

Tash: I WOULD volunteer to assist with the wrapping but then SWMBO would confiscate my passport.

Momisodes: I am going to behave myself ...

Redchair: 2009? Probably not every day. Maybe 360 days out of the 365. One thing I AM going to do though is cut back on what I read. I read 80 blogs a day - when I can. I get about 20 comments a day on the average. So I think I may go to a "you comment, I comment" policy. And If I don't hear from someone for a couple of weeks, then I'll not visit there again until I do hear from them. I figure I can cut my reading in half. I HATE to do it - but I have to cut down on hte time it takes to blog each day - I don't have time for anything else.

Nicole: Oh no. Keep the man away from the keyboard when support is needed.

I'm so glad you won't stop blogging after this 365 madness is over.
But I'm counting too! I'm going to need to catch my breath though!
I would offer to wrap some presents too, but I agree with the rest of us ... not ALL!! Teehee!

I HATE wrapping presents. My husband- yeah, the guy with the long hair and goatee and gauged ears and all the face piercings- absolutely loves it. Sometimes he'll spend more time and money on the wrapping stuff than on the gifts.

I think in every couple there is a wrapper and a loather. Luckily for me, I'm the wrapper and Pup gets nicely wrapped presents. Unluckily for me, I get boxes from Stan my man from the big brown truck. At least this year, one of my boxes holds a robin's egg blue box inside. It more than makes up for the lack of wrapping, dontcha think? Also, my FFB teams went down in a blaze of glory yesterday. Now I'm playing hubby for 3rd. Think there'll be a wee bit of stress over here this weekend?

Oh honey, you are in trouble now. I helped my mother with her printer once. For months after that, every time I saw her number on my caller id, I'd answer, "Help Desk".

Luckily, she found out that I suck at hardware issues and moved on to my cousin. ;-)

My husband is my computer geek, so you're off the hook. Sorry I'm late today, I had my son home from school (he was sick), but he's going tomorrow--come he** or high water... Of course, I'm joking, but he does feel better and I can get back to Christmas shopping.

So SWMBO is your wife?? I thought your wife was Annie? Am I confused??

Admit it, you know how to wrap better than Martha Stewart's gang of crafties. You're just continuing the facade for the makeup sex.
