painting, perhaps

Today is a Saturday and today the weather is supposed to be lousy so I'm staying indoors and painting. At least, that's the plan.

Now, in order to paint, I'm thinking I need not to be blogging. Because blogging is a real time soak and a distraction from the easel. I'm not sure I can blog and paint at the same time.

Maybe I'll just sign into twitter and leave that up on the screen. Or maybe not.

what I need to paint is ...

Peace.

Shut the computer off & paint.
In peace.

Yes. Painting needs peace. And perhaps a little music?

Paint away my friend. Turn off the computer (it is a distraction) and simply paint. Take care.

Painting needs wine....something sweet for you, right?

I find several things suffer because I spend time here instead of there. I've yet to strike the balance. Enjoy a day at the easle.

Turn off all the lights for total darkness, pop on the ipod and start painting. See what comes out!

Just an idea.

Hey Lou, did you ever take a good look at those pictures I sent you of Spring Grove Cemetery? I thought you might find something there to paint? A landscape with water and trees I thought had your name all over it?

I am working on a new piece myself, have a good weekend.

Don't even sign on to Twitter! It'll be too much of a distraction.
Enjoy your day Lou.

Enjoy the painting. I can't wait to see what you come up with. And, get off Twitter and over to Plurk.

I'm with you. When I get in the midst of a painting I neglect my blog roll duties.
As fun as blogging is, I vote for studio time. Anxious to see what you're working on.

Sometimes it is a wonderful thing when you can disconnect . . . for even awhile.

You can always turn it back on.

As for the time soaking . . . no lie. I've been sitting here catching up on reading and five one-hour shows from my DVR have already started and ended.

Eek.

i should be painting, but not art painting... molding in the kids rooms painting and a second coat in the bathroom... ugh.

I hear ya - blogging does suck up time and you need to clear your head to paint. I am still trying to find the time to pick up my brush. Perhaps after the holidays...
