Wordy Wednesday

I've been sitting here trying to think of a word for this Wednesday - something to focus on and give direction to this post. I can't think of a single word that describes this non-descript feeling I have this evening - this kind of blah.

I was thinking of writing something perhaps a bit steamy - you know, kinda warm things up a bit. But .. nah - don't feel it. I was thinking maybe a little fiction (something steamy would be fiction, right?) and I even had a little something in my mind this afternoon that just sort of went bye bye as the day wore on and I was more and more absorbed in the machinations of the day. So, I guess I'm trying to say .. I got nuthin'. I haven't even worked on The Kid in two days (don't worry, this week and next week are in the bag) - but I think I'm going to think a little more about the way I tell this story. It's been pointed out to me that I might be getting a little too focused on 'writing well' and not focused enough on telling the story like I feel it. So I just might have to take a couple of deep breaths and let it build up a little, inside of me, before I let it out and let the pressure off, so to speak. No, don't go there - that was NOT a sexual reference. Although ... oh nevermind. It's time for me to go to sleep (notice there's no possible mistaking the intent there) - 4:30 comes awfully early in the morning.

Peace. Piece. If you're lucky.

Dammit! I want steamy! I KNOW you can do it.

Don't leave me hanging...

Now that you have everyone waiting for the next installment...hanging on the edge of their seats...maybe performance anxiety Lou?

When I feel blah I fall over into a coma-like state and drool, I just roll with the feeling, I don't fight it.

Works really well except when you're driving.

Maybe it's a mid-week blah thing? Maybe there's a Viagra like pill for that? ;)

Isn't that what Wordless Wednesday is all about --- When nothing will come post a pictue? Who would you cast as the Kid when it becomes a movie??????

Blah and nuthin' are synonymous! Hope you are feeling better than blah after some sleep and find somethin'

"...piece. If you're lucky." Perhaps that is what you need to get you over the hump that is Wednesday.

I kinda like the "I got nuthin" days. Gives me an excuse to put up a picute that speaks for itself.

I get so caught up in writing well when working on my novel, that it is complete shit. Yet, when I just sit down and pour my proverbial guts out on my blog, I get a gem every once in awhile. That's why I can't give the beast of my blog up, no matter how much of my time and sanity it sucks up. It's nice to talk with other writers on the web. Glad I found you.

I'm afraid this will happen to me tomorrow too.
I got a new camera this morning, and it doesn't listen to me, and that is so frustrating!! I can't focus on anything else but that right now, I want to get the hang of it, but I'm too unpatient to read the manual!! I guess I'll have to! Aaaarrrggh!

It's a lot of pressure to write every day. I, personally, couldn't. But you're doing great. And we all appreciate it.

Lou's harem appreciates it.

If you write steamy posts... every bloggy husband will be very appreciative!!

I feel exactly the same way today. I am going out to see if I can make something happen.

shadow: That's it. A cyber virus. Now if I could just find a woman willing to soothe my fevered brow ....

kelley: you can start with the reply just above this one.

myst_72: You know, you're not even supposed to MENTION *whispers* performance anxiety *end of whispering* to a 62 year old man. I'm just sayin'.

christy: Yes, I can see where it might be the source of an issue or two while driving. Of course, it DOES depend on what you're driving - or who.

elizabeth: Yet another word *whispers* Viagra *end of whispering, again* not to be uttered too loudly in the presence of a 62 year old man. It gives him *w* performance anxiety *eow,a and a*.

patsy: Well, I would have cast Richard Widmark, but he's deceased now. And he was too old when alive. 93 when he died just a few weeks ago. I 'channeled' him when I created the character of The Kid. There's a kid I saw on a episode of Law and Order. I don't know his name - but he played the son of a Neo-Nazi, White Supremacist gun store owner with this meeting place in the basement of his store. Him. I would choose him. He does crazed really good and he looks a lot like I envision The Kid.

m+b: I ALWAYS find something. I just have to stand back for a minute and take a breath.

employee: You're not volunteering, are you?

loraine: I would. BUT. Wrong computer.

conversemomma: Me too. I like your writing. I feel lucky to have been found by you - if only because I get to read you.

jientje: In my world (computers) the LAST thing you do is called RTFM. Read The F***ing Manual. It usually works.

hyphen mama: Somehow that just seems wrong. I'M doin' all the work, and THEY'RE reaping all the benefits.

mike: Just don't get arrested.

Hey, sometimes you got it and sometimes you don't. Today is just one of those days. It will come, I know it. Personally, I think you're a great writer.

BTW, no, I don't have a blog and with 3 wee ones of my own (my oldest just turned 7 and the baby is 21 months) I don't expect to have a blog anytime soon. Meanwhile, I hope this clears up some of the mysetery that surrounds me. :-)

Joyce-Anne: Okay - I know how you found me and sometimes that's the biggest mystery of all. I am flattered - and I really mean flattered - that you would take time out of your very busy day - to spend it here, with me. With all of us. You be sure, however, to let me know if and when you start your own blog. I'll be there.

'steamy', yeah, that was floating around my place last night.

I like steamy.

Anonymous said...

Yep, it's going around, but you are still funny. :)

So the word for the day is blah?

Anonymous said...

I already commented, but I wanted to thank you for the yummy sounding cold cure you left me, and I didn't see your email address. I probably need to make a trip to the liquor store, but I can usually make room in my day for that in an emergency such as this. ;)

I can't think of anything to write either.

You'll make over the hump, and all will be better. Kick back have a nice soothing nightcap, and get some rest.

I felt the same way...but all week. I'm right there with you. But steamy would have been nice :)

No one can be steamy at 4:30 am unless they have been awake all night. There is no steaminess if one is awakened from sleep at that ungodly hour. Just thought I'd share.
