*sigh* just great. More planes. My husband is a helicopter and such pilot, and my three boys are completely crazy for planes.
I went to blick's by the way, when I was in Atlanta, on your say so. They were having a BIG SALE! But I still managed to spend $295 US! Then, in London, I spent some more. I am having SO MUCH FUN NOW! Will set up a work website soon, just getting pictures of old stuff together. I have been so bad about taking photos of my work in the past, and many of my best customers are foreign so I will never see the pieces again. Oh well.
Try using a LARGE brush, just to see what happens. One inch. Squint at the landscape, and slap the paint on. Just see.
nan: I hope your husband and your boys enjoy that shot. She's a rare old bird. And as for Blicks, I hope the things you purchased live up to your expectations.
hyphen mama: I have never ridden in that bird. I wish. I just love the look and line of her.
OHmommy: It's easy to do that. You want to get close - because close is better. But when I shot this, I considered her shadow to be as important as the bird herself. I made a conscious decision to include the whole shadow.
Huckdoll: Flying in a small aircraft is a rare and highly invigorating experience. But I understand.
Veronica: It's either a Cessna 190 or 195 or 195B. And it's painted as an LC126 - the military version of the 195. I don't know the owner (yet) so I don't know what model it really is. The difference between them is the the engine used - the 195 used a Jacobs radial with higher HP. they were built from 1947 until 1954 and 1100 of them were made. many are still flying, so you might see one. They are as pretty in the air as they are sitting on the ground.

A great shot :) I love the gorgeous sky as the backdrop too!
did you get to fly this silver bullet?
We don't build em like this anymore.

She's a beauty! Do you get to ride in her often?
I tend to crop off my shadows way too often. LOVE the shadow in this shot.
Sandy: Thank you. I love airplanes. Can you tell?
warriorwoman: Unfortunately, no.
AFF: That, my dear, is for sure.

I would take a million bucks to get me in that death trap, lol. It's cute though...
:D
Gorgeous shot. Nat says it is a gorgeous plane. What make and model is it?

She's gorgeous.
My son has been obsessed since he had the chance to actually fly a P-51 Mustang.
Fabulous shot.....
