31 years is coming

On June 25th, Annie and I will have been married for 31 years. I have a very special picture I want to share with you on that day. (<--Teaser) Last June, on our 30th, Annie set up something for me that was unexpected and very exciting. And no, it wasn't a third. No, you see what it was pictured below. I am in the craft under tow. This was the second ride. This one was to 5000 ft.

After we got to altitude, control of the glider was turned over to me. It was, after all, a two man glider. I flew the glider for all of 20 minutes. Until we were about 1000 ft. off the end of the runway on our landing approach. There is a picture, somewhere, of that landing. With me in the front seat. With a grin on my face from ear to ear.

I have always wanted to fly. A pilot's license isn't in my future any longer. Medical reasons. But that's okay. Because I CAN get a glider license. If I want to. It's just enough, right now, to know that I could if I wanted to. Just enough.

31 years is quite a bit - we have a few more years to go until then ;)
Take care you two and lots of more years to come!

How are you going to even equal that, never mind top it!

How wonderful! I've never been in a glider before, but did do one of those bi-planes that does loops and rolls. Scary.

I can only hope that Babycakes' imagination lives up to the glider for our 30th. Or even 10th.

Love, light and peace to you and Annie!

Eve Grey: Thanks. It was!

hyphen mama: Careful what you wish for. You might find a fat old man camped on your doorstep.

baby~amore: I don't know what she's going to do this year. I don't think a new motorcycle is in the cards - so I don't know.

girlblue: Thank you. I hope your chevron is okay. (Get your minds out of the gutter - she has a tarantula.)

nicole: More years to come? I hope so. Just have to do it one day at a time, like always.

witchypoo: Top it? I don't know .. unless she's planning a three-way.

alice: Thank you. I have a friend with a Stearman - I'll post a picture tonight. Of his Stearman.

Audobon ron: I sent you my address.

Sandy: No big plans. But with Mrs. Big Surprise (otherwise known as SWMBO) mixed into the process, who knows?

planet of janet: I know. She's amazing - and a VERY tolerant woman.

andreamuse: Thank you. And it was GREAT!

redchair: Big hugs right back to you, Vikki. Still working on that bigamy idea ... she may not be THAT tolerant.

casdok: Thank you. And thank you for coming by. I've missed you.

Congrats Lou. I went gliding only once. I was on Martha's Vinyard and will never forget how much I loved the experience. I wish I could talk my wife into it but she resists to date.

So totally cool!! XXOO

Michael's a pilot, so I get the flying thing.

I flew once, in my young days, I wasn't in a glider or anything though.
Lou is a lucky man.

My hubby was in ROTC as the pilot candidate. His diabetes grounded him, too. Congrats on getting to soar.

and then over dinner Hyphen says "hey Mr Hyphen what if one of my bloggy friends is in town for *cough* business *cough* and you take him for a flight over the mountains?"

After the initial "what the hell do you mean HIM?" and I say "oh come on, his wife is TOTALLY into a 3 way". He says "Yeah, I'd take him flying".

See, it's all good. Come on over! I'm sure you've got business in Denver. Soon.

AFF: Diabetes won't ground him from gliding. But thank you.

Hyphen mama: I'll find business in Denver. Keep a light in the window.

My dad took me on one of those things when I was FIVE. Oh yes, I remember that and I think my mom was a little bit crazy for allowing it.

Happy anniversary. I do believe this is my first time commenting, but not my first time visiting ;)
