100 Word Challenge #6

He feels such guilt. Another commitment not met, another injury to her psyche, another shot to the solar plexus of their love. And he tried to cover up, tried to smooth it over, but he lied and he was caught and she is so hurt and he feels so incredibly dumb .... and lost. And panicked. What if she leaves him? What if this one lie was the last lie, what if this one error was the one that brings it all to an end. He feels as though he is split down the middle of his soul. He seeks atonement.

This NON-AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL piece of fiction is in response to the 100 Word Challenge authored by VelvetVerbosity. The challenge word today was 'atonement'.

Velvet: The details are fiction. But I don't think that there's a man that loves a woman that hasn't, at one time or another, in one way or another, found himself in this place.

Secret Agent mama: Me too.

Nicole: Good. I meant to.

Casdok: Thank you .. very much.

Lceel - all too true. Sigh. You would think mother nature would've made it a little easier for the opposite sexes to get it together.

Velvet: I don't want to start an argument - I know that you and I come from very different places about SOME things - but I don't think Mother Nature has anything to with it. She gave us everything we need - she made Woman beautiful and Man horny. It's people that screw it all up - people and the societies they construct.

Lol, I'm not as argumentative as you think. Just passionate. And most of what I object to about conflict between the genders is a result of "people" screwing things up. I do find it frustrating.

Lou,

An interesting piece of writing. I thought it was about the NY Gov.

As for your comment about the right kind of regulation, even if there is new regulation, I doubt whether enough new regs will be achieved as Wall Street will lobby hard to have it watered down. I think we will see another financial crisis in our lifetime after this one is just a memory.
