That's one ...Sounds pretty good if you ask me. That's one of the things I regret of my short stint in the Army---now that I've been going to school (the 4 years before P was born and the year and a half that I'll be doing starting next month), I feel sad that I didn't at least stay in long enough to put in my least obligation. I think that may be happy information when it's time for T to go to college---he was in 14 months and put in a year's worth of money towards his GI Bill, which I think might be enough if I remember correctly from looking into it, but my 8 months just won't cut it. :-| And it can't be transferred to spouses, which is actually good when it's his turn.

And it's interesting how things happen...I'd been kinda fretting off and on, not heavily but it's been in the back of my mind, about how much I'm going to need to pay for day care for P with my newest stint at college. Today I got a call from the director of the day care, and there's just enough in one of the classes for Pre-K that if they're not moved over to the base for the afternoon program he was going to go to, they'd have to hire another teacher. It was just in passing that my costs would be less, but this is also the day care we used for D when she went through day care at the beginning (and for after/before school periodically during all) of my first degree. Nice surprise. I'm going to have to find out further how this is going to work out, but it sounds better to be dropping him off the same place I'll be going instead of having to drop him at the school and then go to the college (not that it's that much of a stretch, but it's just interesting!).Allisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09349540757656553214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5969775012135767870.post-10748200398231423252009-07-16T23:06:31.277-05:002009-07-16T23:06:31.277-05:00It does seem like it will be a good fit. He once told me that his brother was a Major in the Air Force, and then he said, the Air Force has two basic jobs, you either fly a plane, or you support putting a plane in the air. That was 43 years ago, but I will bet the Air Force still has less bull shit than the Army. Speaking Japanese and being stationed in Japan can't be all bad.
