The political elite, of both stripes, are so corrupt and out of touch that it is impossible for them to even begin to effectively govern this country. There is an us and a them, and its not R and D, it's politicians and the rest of us. THAT is what needs to change. Of the people, by the people. We need to find our way back to that.CaraBeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04614627167922944626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5969775012135767870.post-42279885974478360972010-08-31T17:37:55.591-05:002010-08-31T17:37:55.591-05:00Oh, Lou, don't get me started. I think you will have discovered where I live on this issue (twins, remember?) from the occasional post I do, where it bubbles unwittingly to the surface. But like you, I try to keep my posts impartial. Several years ago during a particularly vitriolic and expensive display "us vs. them" behavior in Congress, I began wondering myself. What would happen if we were a "no party" system. It gets me so angry most of the time to see and know what they are doing and at the same time making me feel like there's nothing I can do to stop them. Sure, I vote, but we need more voices if we are to be heard.Hockeymandadhttp://hockeymandad.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5969775012135767870.post-530812470984531802010-08-31T09:04:34.097-05:002010-08-31T09:04:34.097-05:00I am a Libertarian and, honestly, any political mo...I am a Libertarian and, honestly, any political movement that wants to "take over" the majority worries me. I'm Miss Moderation and I fully believe that a presence of all political views is what we need.

That and we all need to remember that we are AMERICANS. Not Republicans, not Democrats, not Independents, but AMERICANS. That is what is most important.Coal Miner's Granddaughterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14320077738770745217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5969775012135767870.post-27685962199338607452010-08-31T07:05:14.396-05:002010-08-31T07:05:14.396-05:00TexanMama: Send me an email with specifics - wher...TexanMama: Send me an email with specifics - where and when Christians have been denied their right to free speech - or their right to practice their faith.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13024392628362568010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5969775012135767870.post-60838161466674765212010-08-31T00:15:02.843-05:002010-08-31T00:15:02.843-05:00hmm... good thoughts, Lou. Me, I'm a conservative (sorry 'bout that) and I have a "sometimes I wonder..."

If the ACLU exists to help Americans fight for their civil liberties, why don't they EVER defend Christians and THEIR right to practice religion, or their right to free speech (within the bounds of the constitution)? It seems that they only fight for causes that are anti-establishment or inflammatory. Don't all Americans deserve equal protection under the law?

just something I wonder...Gretchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00039056206420438194noreply@blogger.com
